The Catch Up Phonics programme (CUP) has been designed to support pupils who are working towards the expected standard of phonics and pupils in KS2 who have not yet acquired all the sounds and words on the phonics programme.
The rigorous tracking identifies pupils at risk of falling behind, particularly focusing on the bottom 20%, enabling early identification and additional provision to meet their needs with either 'CUP' phonics or one of the bespoke 1-1 intervention, specific to the pupils’ individual needs.
You will have access to the following interventions;
Grid Time - focusing on specific phoneme from gaps identified in the assessment booklets,
5 minute Flash - focusing on the recall of tricky and high frequency words,
Fluency - to support pace and accuracy of reading,
Blending - focusing on blending and segmenting (predominantly for Phase 2 and Phase 3).
